We feel it is only fair to have the true story of this remarkable man and his remarkable dogs finally told here in a series of chapters written by John.

Below is the beginning saga of "Fetters Setters ~ The Ryman English Setter Story." Certainly, there have been many stories about George Ryman and the Ryman Setters over the years, some factual, but many others drifting into the realm of myth rather than truth.

The first four articles below are original pieces by John Fetters, compiled from both memory and factual stories based on actual documentation which has been handed down through the Fetters Family English Setter histories.

There will be more of these stories as time goes by. George Ryman was a complicated man who had one main goal in life, a simple goal for a complex man: to produce the best English Setter bloodlines he could, and to have that legacy survive beyond him.
